SecureMAX™ brings together several layers of Internet security:

FIREWALL:
An essential element of any computer network security system is a firewall. The SecureMAX™ firewall is highly effective, easy to implement, and is affordable for organizations with no security at present. The firewall integrates with the IDS for a pro-active security solution.

INTRUSION DETECTION SYSTEM:
SecureMAX™ generates a record of every IP transmission and makes it available for analysis. It then uses intrusion patterns or signatures to identify known attack strategies, like Ping of Death and Smurf Attack. The SecureMAX™ service includes keeping these signature ID’s current on your system. Interpreting the data logs is the heart of the Intrusion Detection System. This requires a significant understanding of IP and the Internet’s processes, and a bit of hacking know how. By reviewing log files, we can determine whether the network has been probed for openings, or has been entered.

INTERNET MANAGEMENT:
SecureMAX™ provides information to help manage access to the Internet and to enforce company policies for web use. Reporting tools list what sites are visited, how often, and by whom. Optional proxy server functionality can block objectionable web sites (pornography, gambling, hate groups). To help deal with abuses of Internet access by employees, SecureMAX™ can be programmed to allow or deny individual access as appropriate.

VIRUS PROTECTION:
When the proxy functions are activated, SecureMAX™ scans all HTTP and FTP traffic for computer viruses. Every downloaded file, and every web page, is scanned before it enters the network.
